Prof. Ephraim Uba Nwuba
B. Sc, M. Eng, Ph D., FNIAE, FNIEM, FNSE, FCIPAN

Prof. Ephraim Ifeanyi Uba Nwuba is a distinguished Professor of Agric Engineering. He was the former Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Oko.

Prof. Uba Nwuba bagged his Bachelor of Science degree in Agric Mechanization in University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1972 and his Masters of Engineering degree and Doctorate degree in Agric Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1981 and 1988 respectively.

Prof. Uba Nwuba is a Fellow of Nigerian Institute of Agric Engineers (FNIAE), a Fellow of Nigerian Institute of Engineering Management (FNIEM), a Fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Administrators of Nigeria (FCIPAN). He is a COREN registered Engineer.

Prof Uba Nwuba was a Research Officer in Forest Mechanization with the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria, Ibadan for three years before the onset of his lecturing career spanning over 35 years in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Anambra State University of Technology, Enugu, and Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

He has held various posts in various universities, namely: Head of Department, Agric Engineering, Anambra State University of Technology (1988-1989), Head of Department, Mechanical/ Production Engineering (1996-2000), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (NAU); Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, NAU (2000-2002); and Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Oko (2002-2006).

He has over 60 journal articles, commissioned papers, technical Reports, conference papers and other publications to his credit.

His stellar regime as Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, among other things is reputed for curbing the menace of cultism in the institution. He has received several recognitions, awards and accolades in that regard, including an Award of Excellence as Head of the Most Cult- Free Institution in South- East Zone of Nigeria by South- East Students Union in 2005.

Prof Olusegun Yerokun

Prof. Olusegun Yerokun is a renowned Professor of Law. He was the former Dean of Faculty of Law of Lagos State University.

Prof. Yerokun bagged his Bachelor of Law degree in University of London and enrolled as a Barrister-at –Law at the Middle Temple, London in 1969. He had his Master of law degree in University College, London in 1971 and was also called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1976.

Prof. Yerokun among others is a member of the International Bar Association, the Chartered Institute of Insurance, London; Nigerian Insurance Law Association (NILA); the Chartered Institute of Secretaries, London; and a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.

Prof Yerokun has been distinguished law lecturer for over 43 years. He has taught in West College of Commerce, Ballam and Tooting, London, University of Maiduguri, University of Ilorin, and currently in Lagos State University.

Prof. has held various posts in various universities, namely: Acting Head, Department of Common Law, Faculty of Law, University of Maiduguri (1978-1980); Acting Dean of Law, Faculty of Law, University of Maiduguri (1984-1985); Acting Head of Commercial and Business Law, Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin (1985-1987); Acting Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin (1985-1987); Acting Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin; Acting Dean, Lagos State University(LASU) (1989-1991); Dean Faculty of Law, LASU  (1991-1994), Head Department of Business Law, LASU  (1995-1999) and Dean, Faculty of Law (1999- 2000), LASU , Head of Department of Business Law (2000 – 2004), LASU  and Dean of Law, LASU  (2009- 2012).

Prof. Yerokun has been on Consultancy appointments with various Law Chambers in the Country. He was a Consultant on Law Reforms in Oyo State, Ministry of Justice and Mobil Spill 1998 – (Post Impact Assessment of Claims) and a visiting Scholar to Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies Lagos. He was also an adviser on Space Insurance Law and Liabilities on the launching of Nigeria – Sat 1 Committee in 2003.

He has written over 9 law textbooks used in Nigerian Universities; and he has over 44 other publications to his credit in Nigeria and beyond. He was the Chairman, Nigerian Revenue Law Report, and the Editor- in- Chief of Commercial Law Reports of Nigeria and Nassarawa State Law Report.

Ejike was a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Lagos State University Ojo, Lagos.

Ejike comes from a family of teachers, his parents are both distinguished University Professors.

His father was a former Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State.

During his National Youth Service, Ejike was President, Legal Aid Clinic, Katsina State, a community development service group which offers free legal services to indigent persons in 2007 to 2008. His regime secured the release of many unlawful detainees in Katsina State prisons.

As an undergraduate, Ejike served meritoriously in several offices chief among which include, President, Law Students’ Association (LAWSA), Faculty of Law.

Back in the secondary school, Ejike won the International Women’s Day Workshop State-wide Essay Competition organized in Anambra State in 2001. He was the Editor-in-Chief of the maiden edition of his secondary school magazine; and he served meritoriously as Library Prefect.
